Research interests

My current research focusses on the evaluation of a novel water treatment technology developed by ArviaTM technology. The treatment process involves the destruction of organics in water and one of the aims of my project is to obtain the approval of this technology by the Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI). Approval of DWI is critical for ArviaTM to penetrate the drinking water market and also to position itself strategically for the next Asset Management Plan 2015.

My PhD was focussed on the evaluation of Palladium coated substrates for Hydrogen gas detection. Through my PhD I had the opportunity to collaborate with industries such as National Nuclear Lab (NNL) and Alphasense where I have been able to further the testing coatings I have achieve the development of a coating which is able to detect 5% Hydrogen gas in a second with a detection limit of 15 ppm and is not affected by humidity and cross sensitive gases such as Carbon Monoxide and Hydrogen Sulphide.
